Hey apparently there was some kind of pro-Obamacare protest in DC yesterday, Twitter was all blown up about it. It was another astroturf rally put on by an alphabet soup of liberal organizations, HCAN, NAACP, SEIU, and AFL-CIO. It’s point was to make “citizens arrests” of health care company CEO’s for..I don’t know why, making money I guess? To liberals making money and being successful are horrible traits for a business to have, apparently. So anyway, they had this astroturf protest with that clown Howard Dean in attendance and they pulled in a whopping 1000 people, half of them there because their union boss made them show up and the other half probably homeless people hired to hold signs and look outraged.

Supporters of Obama’s health-care plan on Tuesday staged a last-ditch protest in Washington to buoy the bill limping through Congress, targeting their anger at health insurance CEOs who were meeting at D.C.’s Ritz Carlton for America’s Health Insurance Plans’ (AHIP) national policy conference.

The article is hilarious, it really shows that liberals haven’t grown or thought up anything new in 40 years. They are still stuck in their glory days of Vietnam, using the same, tired “Hey hey Ho Ho” chant at rallies and reflecting fondly on the “good old days”.

“I think they should just shove it through and f*** the Republicans,” said protester Dana Dallabetta, a 54-year-old breast-cancer survivor from New York City who said she lost her health insurance after missing one payment on her COBRA plan. “I think the senators and the congressmen will see today the public is behind them, that they shouldn’t be scared.”

Yes, “shove it through”. I guess she doesn’t realize that this plan she wants to “shove through” will force her to buy insurance from the very same companies she’s protesting today, and if she doesn’t buy from them she’ll be fined by the government. As for the public being behind Congressional Democrats and their Obamacare crap sandwich…well maybe she’s just a little short on facts there. She later whines that it’s hard to have an “intelligent conversation” with a Republican. Maybe it’s because they realize you’re an idiot and don’t want to waste their time?

Even later she calls her aunt a racist, offering no other proof than her dislike of Obama. You’re a real class act Dana Dallabetta, thanks to you being the face of this astroturf protest we can easily write it off as the last gasp of a bunch of dead enders.

It seems like the little dictator lover Sean Penn is getting lessons on how to be an oppressive d-bag by his good buddy Hugo Chavez. In a discussion with uberasshole Bill Maher, Penn talks about how mean people are for daring to question the legitimacy of Chavez’s dictatorship, he then puts forth a solution, no doubt cribbed from his favorite socialist dictator’s own playbook, on how to deal with the doubters:

Because every day, this elected leader is called a dictator here, and we just accept it! And accept it. And this is mainstream media, who should – truly, there should be a bar by which one goes to prison for these kinds of lies.

I don’t know if he’s trying to be this generations Hanoi Jane or what but at least she had likability, whereas the general consensus on Penn is that he’s a prick that is prone to violence, and his “humanitarianism” is pretty much a running joke. It’s no wonder he hangs out with Chavez so much, he’s probably the only guy he can find that doesn’t laugh in his face all day.

So I play Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 for the 360. A lot. So I thought I would throw up a list of the builds/classes I’m currently using

My current classes:

<ins datetime="2010-02-26T06:14:47+00:00">WWJT? (What Would Jesus Tube?)</ins> – This is the ubiquitous One Man Army/N00btube build. The key feature of this class is that OMA can be used to quickly restore all your ammo, even your nades. tube tube OMA tube tube OMA. It goes like that. Along with OMA is one other key component of this build; Danger Close. DC increases the damage done by explosives, and believe me between the grenade launcher, claymores and OMA reloading them it has lots of explosives. The third perk isn’t all that vital, I usually alternate between Ninja and Commando.

Main – SCAR H – Grenade Launcher

<del datetime="2010-02-26T06:14:47+00:00">Secondary – OMA takes the place of secondary</del>

Equipment – Claymore

Perks – One Man Army Pro, Danger Close Pro, Ninja/Commando Pro

Usage – Large maps

<ins datetime="2010-02-26T06:14:47+00:00">Killstreak Whore</ins> – This is my second favorite class to play. It consists of a silenced TAR-21 along with ‘ol trusty, the M1014 shotgun. Most people seem to prefer the SPAS-12 for shotgunin’ goodness (of if they’re someone that hasn’t realized the patch nerfed them badly, the 1887’s) but I fell in love with this autoshotty the second I unlocked it. The main focus of this build is to lock down an area, now this isn’t camping, you aren’t supposed to sit in one spot with your iron sights up staring at a doorway. It’s meant to control an area meaning a whole building or even half of a building. The key to this build is the Scavenger Pro perk which starts you with extra mags and let’s you reload ammo from fallen enemies and team mates. You will burn through ammo with this build, being able to rearm by merely sprinting across the body of that pubbie you just killed is vital. It’s also why I call it my Killstreak Whore build. Locking down an area and using the silenced TAR-21 to keep your red dot off the radar is key to staying alive long enough to call in multiple killstreak rewards. Using this build I have called in all 3 of my killstreaks within 20 seconds of each other. It’s a goddamn beast.

Main – TAR-21 – Silencer

Secondary – M1014 Auto Shotgun – Grip

Equipment – Claymore

Perks – Scavenger Pro, Hardline Pro, Steady Aim Pro

Usage – Any map

<ins datetime="2010-02-26T13:53:44+00:00">Akimbo Slice </ins>- This build is all about speed…and akimbo Mini-Uzi’s to pubbie faces. The mini-Uzi’s don’t get a lot of love for some reason and I don’t know why. High damage and high rate of fire = You killing tons of people. The trusty M1014 as the secondary is used for close quarter situations, warp speed knifing with a Commando Pro-powered blade also helps in tight spaces. The rest of the perks are rounded out with Marathon Pro and Stopping Power Pro for that extra punch of damage with the Uzi’s. I usually play this build if I’m bored because it’s not a very tactical build, killstreaks are almost non-existent because when you’re running around so much like a damn maniac you don’t tend to last long. It’s fun play for a little while but I usually find myself changing out of it mid-match. Everyone has just gotten very used to seeing this type of build so the counter measures are well-tested and effective.

Main – Mini-Uzi – Akimbo

Secondary – M1014 Auto Shotgun – Grip

Equipment – Claymore

Perks – Marathon Pro, Stopping Power Pro, Commando Pro

Usage – Small and mid-size maps

I have other builds, obviously you get 5, but they are usually used to test out guns or perk combinations. A good resource for weapon damage numbers and explanations of killstreaks and perks is the Call of Duty wiki, good info there.

So that’s my usual setup, I’m decent but no kind of K/D superstar, these builds are quite effective in my mind and they’re loads of fun to play.

Update: Alright I think I have everything pretty much how I want it. I’m considering changing the comment system over to Disqus because I really like the integration with FB and Twitter it provides, but I have to hash out some formatting issues I saw when I briefly enabled it last night. Other than that everything is done, twitter/buzz backgrounds, follow buttons and having the tags display next to the top post (as opposed to the default which is categories). Oh if you want to a listing that looks more like a standard blog you can click the link up there that says “Posts“, it will display a sequential listing of the last 15 or so posts.

Update2: Well I’ve grown far too frustrated with Disqus so I just manually added the ability to log in and comment using either your Twitter account or your Facebook account. Enjoy!

Ars Technica has uncovered the end date for Youtube support of IE6: March 13th

Over six months ago, Google announced it would start phasing out support for Internet Explorer 6 on Orkut and YouTube, and started pushing its users to modern browsers. The search giant has now given a specific kill date for old browser support on the video website via a page on Google.com titled Solve a Problem: Upgrading your browser:

Support stops on March 13th. Stopped support essentially means that some future features on YouTube will be rolled out that won’t work in older browsers.

Having had my own issues with shitty IE screwing with website formatting I heartily welcome this change for Youtube. Anything that can be done to force people to update their outdated, legacy software for browsers that are obviously better is a good thing in my book.

When bored, and out of work, men tend to beat their wives. That’s per Democrat majority leader Harry Reid:

Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid (D-Nev.) suggested Monday that domestic violence by men has increased due to U.S. joblessness.

“I met with some people while I was home dealing with domestic abuse. It has gotten out of hand,” Reid said on the Senate floor. “Why? Men don’t have jobs.”

“Men, when they’re out of work, tend to become abusive,” the majority leader added. “Our domestic crisis shelters in Nevada are jammed.”

Someone better alert Reid’s wife, because come November he’s gonna be out of work. But of course Reid can’t even beat a demoralized minority party in Congress so it’s unlikely he would fare well against a woman.
